The results of Mundus Vini, one of the most prestigious wine competitions in the world, have come with three Gold Medals for three of our wines: El Recio de Matsu 2016, Bardos Reserva 2013 and Hacienda López de Haro Edición Limitada 2016. More than 7,000 wines from all over the world have participated in this contest, organized by the renowned German publishing house, Meininger.
Our three "golden" wines have much in common as they have been made by Raúl Acha with the same variety, Tempranillo, but they are totally different. Toro, where El Recio de Matsu is born, is very different from Páramo de Corcos, the extreme zone where the Bardos Reserva grapes are grown, or from San Vicente de la Sonsierra, the golden mile of the Tempranillo in Rioja where Hacienda López de Haro Limited Edition originates.
In each area, Raúl applies local know-how in the vineyard and in the winery to ensure that the wines express where they come from, that the grape is the protagonist, and to demonstrate that the great wines are made in the vineyard.
