Every year we come up with the same story, "We have to do something with Libalis", and it is thanks to the comments and congratulations continuously sent to us that we became aware of Libalis being a very special and different wine. For some reason, every time we set to capture this singularity on the label, we were never able to get it right.
Since the Libalis collection was launched in 2002, we have had the striking amount of 7 different images. It is true that from the beginning, the image referred to the bodega where it was made even more so than the wine itself, with the Castle being the main character in the first versions released.
In 2008, we reflected on this idea, and in the attempt of capturing what we believe represented the wine, we replaced the Castle with flowers. In this way, we tried to reflect the explosion of taste or aromatic profile that you have always mentioned Libalis evokes.
With this change, we were well aware of the risk we were taking by confusing the consumers. However, we subsequently realised that we actually fell short and that Libalis was much more: Libalis was not only a very aromatically intense or tasty wine, but also, thanks to your comments, we learned that it had been part of many special moments. As a result, we decided to assume the new risk of getting involved in another change of image.
And this is how we entered the year 2011, a year full of meetings, thought and some Libalis bottles serving as inspiration in the new challenge of distilling the essence of Libalis and laying it on the bottle. After talking and talking, we realised that we all shared a common aspect with Libalis: it is always the beginning of something good! Whatever this was, it was still subjective in every case: it could be the perfect wine for an intimate dinner, to kick-off a party with friends or for an informal meal. Libalis was even the first wine made by Vintae!
And following a long journey in which both Moruba and Brosmind shared their creative talent in this project, we come to this point. A point where considerable progress has been made: we are not presenting one image but two different packaging lines so everybody can choose whichever one they prefer.
And after this lecture, we would like to thank the unconditional Libalis enthusiasts for your support and comments. Without your support, and after all the changes the image of Libalis has endured, surely this special wine would have fallen through the cracks.
