Matsu welcomes La Jefa, its first white wine
Fifteen years after our exciting adventure began in the D.O. Toro, we can finally present the fourth wine from Bodega Matsu, in which a woman appears on the label for the first time and which is also our first white wine from Toro.
La Jefa is a powerful, age-worthy wine sourced from very old vines, some of them pre-phylloxera, and aged for 14 months in oak casks.
It is made with the majority white variety in Toro, the Malvasía castellana.
La Jefa is portrayed as a strong woman with years of experience under her belt, unafraid to show herself as she is and to express her feminine pride.
This wine and its natural expression of the terroir is the result of decades of ancestral viticulture practiced by the various growers who supply Matsu.
Only 7,500 bottles were produced of the 2018 vintage.
