The "restlessly innovative" character of Bodega Hacienda Lopez de Haro has not escaped the attention of the British MW & journalist Tim Atkin, who has placed one of its newest projects, the white aged in “tinajas”, amongst the best of the D.O´s´ with 95 points and within his “Wine of the Year”. Atkin Includes 7 of the Lopez de Haro wines in his recent report on Rioja.
“This brilliant oak- and amphora-fermented field blend is a stunning wine”. This is how Atkin describes the 2016 vintage white, made by Raul Acha, winemaker for Hacienda Lopez de Haro. Another one to be highlighted with 94 points, is a Garnacha, 2016, aged in concrete tanks, “a first class wine that shows how exciting a Garnacha variety can be when in the right hands”, according to the Brittish critic.
El Garnacho Viejo de la Familia Acha 2014, another garnacha, beautiful wine made from vineyards well over 100 years old, scored 93.
And the icing on the cake comes with the Classica Grandes Añadas de López de Haro, a wine collection that will soon soon be available out in the world. This will start with Blanco Gran Reserva 2012, scored 92.
92 points was also given to the Quatro Pagos Vintage 2012, that is closely followed by the Hacienda López de Haro Gran Reserva 2010 and El Pacto 2016, 90 points each one.
