Altitude, character and origin:
Bardos stands out in the latest Vinous tasting
We are proud to share that Vinous, one of the most influential wine publications in the United States, has just awarded exceptional scores to three of our Bardos wines. The reviews come from Joaquín Hidalgo, the voice of Spanish wines at Vinous and a critic renowned for his deep understanding of terroir-driven expressions.
In his latest tasting report, Hidalgo highlights the balance, texture, and bold personality of Bardos wines—crafted from some of the highest and most remote vineyards in the Ribera del Duero. This recognition is especially meaningful for a project born from a spirit of exploration and a desire to reinterpret the region from its edges.
Here are the wines that stood out:
- 2022 Bardos Villávaro – 94 points
“Beautifully balanced... creamy texture, plush tannins and a long-lasting flavor with balsamic herbs and chalk.” - 2022 Bardos Moradillo de Roa – 93 points
“Concentrated and intense... aromas of black cherry and plum over soft oak, with a powerful yet elegant palate.” - 2022 Bardos Viñedos de Altura – 92 points
“Energetic and rich... wild herbs and ripe fruit layered over a bold structure and a strong sense of place.”
This recognition strengthens our belief in a singular approach to Ribera del Duero—a region of extremes, altitude, and character—and encourages us to keep pushing boundaries with each new vintage.
