Bardos: excellence recognized in Tim Atkin MW's Ribera del Duero Report 2024
In the recently published Ribera del Duero Report 2024, the renowned Master of Wine Tim Atkin has once again placed Bodega Bardos among the best in the region. This year, we have consolidated our position in the Third Growths category of his winery classification, reaffirming our commitment to quality and authenticity. Additionally, four of our wines have received outstanding scores, with two improving on their already impressive ratings from last year.
Bardos Villálvaro 2022, 94 POINTS
A fresh, perfumed Mediterranean red made from bush vines at 940 meters. Atkin highlights its thyme and lavender aromas, leading to a subtle palate layered with red fruits, fine tannins, and a mineral finish.
Bardos Moradillo de Roa 2022, 93 POINTS
Crafted from old vines at 900 meters. Atkin describes it as "muscular, firm, and tannic, but with aging potential," with notes of wild herbs, violets, plum, and blackberry, supported by excellent structure.
Bardos Suprema 2021, 93 POINTS
From one of the hottest vintages in the region, this wine surprises with its freshness and balance. Atkin highlights Soria’s signature acidity, with flavors of blackberry, summer berries, and a hint of mountain herbs, all wrapped in textured tannins.
These accolades from Tim Atkin MW, one of the most influential wine critics in the world, are a boost for Bodega Bardos and our passion for conveying the essence of the two areas of Ribera del Duero where we craft our wines: the Burgos-based Páramos de Corcos and the Soria region surrounding San Esteban de Gormáz, in villages like Villálvaro and Alcubilla de Avellaneda. These lands, characterized by the freshness and altitude of their vineyards, inspire us every day to create unique wines that remain true to the history and character of each landscape.
We want to share this success with you, as you are an essential part of this journey. Let’s raise a glass to Bardos and all that’s yet to come!
