Pandemonium, the Best Riojan Sparkling Wine According to Tim Atkin

Pandemonium Blanco de Blancas 2021 has been included in the Podium of the Rioja 2026 Special Report by Tim Atkin MW, achieving 94 points and ranking among the most outstanding wines in the report.

The project’s mountain-grown sparkling wines have reached this level of excellence in just three vintages, while also consolidating their position for the second consecutive year in the Second Growths category of the Master of Wine’s winery classification.

In terms of scores, both Pandemonium wines achieved outstanding results:

• • Pandemonium Blanco de Blancas 2021 — 94 points. Best Sparkling Wine of the Year
  • Pandemonium Blanco de Tintas 2021 — 93 points

Both wines come from high-altitude vineyards located between 700 and 900 metres in Villaverde de Rioja and reflect a clear commitment to freshness, precision and the expression of mountain terroir.

In his introductory commentary, Tim Atkin highlights the work of Richi Arambarri and Raúl Acha at the helm of the project, describing Pandemonium as one of the most brilliant initiatives to emerge in Rioja in recent years, linked to the exploration of new vineyard landscapes and the potential of high-altitude viticulture.
