It is a very special Rioja, made with grapes from 39 plots located in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, our town, where our winery is and where the best Riojan Tempranillo vines.\r\n\r\nOur technical team, with Raul Acha at the helm, have done the meticulous job of selecting the plots. All are old vineyards, more than five decades old, in which the star grape is Tempranillo, a variety born to shine and give its best results in the microclimate of San Vicente. The protagonist Tempranillo is joined by a small percentage of Mazuelo (10%), which gives it longevity and freshness. To obtain the high quality grapes that this wine requires, the old goblet-trained vineyards receive the best care, starting out with careful traditional short pruning, to favor low natural production and ending with the selection of the best bunches during the harvest, which is always manual.\r\n\r\n\"Our\r\n\r\nIt is a Limited Edition because with the grapes of those 18 hectares of vineyard only 312 barrels are filled. The choice of the 312 barrels to hold the wine is fundamental for its personality. The team chose French oak (40%) and Hungarian oak (60%), and they include new and second-hand barrels. The wood provides spicy and smoked notes blend with the ripe fruit that Tempranillo and Mazuelo provide, creating a pleasant, long, balanced and meaty wine, a 2016 vintage that the they consider exceptional.\r\n\r\nThere are a total of 89,930 bottles of 75 cl and 1700 magnum, which are numbered and that can be tasted in selected catering establishments throughout Spain and abroad.\r\n\r\n\"Our\r\n\r\nOur goal with this new reference in the collection is to return to the origins of Rioja wine, avoiding the most modern blending of grapes from different areas and using only grapes from the district. What Hacienda López de Haro Limited Edition intends to do is to create a wine just like the families in the area did in the 19th century and thus transfer a unique landscape, history and terroir to the bottle.\r\n\r\n\"Our\r\n\r\nIf you want to know a little bit more, here is the wine shee<\/a>t.
