Le Naturel Lakar, the forgotten essence of Navarra<\/strong><\/h1>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=\"4.0.9\"][et_pb_column type=\"4_4\" _builder_version=\"4.0.9\"][et_pb_text _builder_version=\"4.0.9\"]
A small piece of land, just under one hectare, witness to the history of a wine-growing region. It can reveal what it was like, what varieties were most suitable for the region, how the inhabitants farmed the land, and even what wines they drank.
It is also evidence of the dedication of numerous generations to preserving a heritage in Navarra that is now severely lacking in old Garnacha vineyards. Thanks to them, today you can meet Lakar, a new wine that joins the Le Naturel family. Lakar has its origins in a small vineyard planted in 1920 in the locality of the same name. One hundred years after planting, in 2020, the harvest yielded just 1,810 bottles of this enveloping and affable wine, complex and showing a tremendous promise for aging, it transmits in the glass the magic of a landscape which could disappear if we do not defend it. <\/p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=\"4.0.9\"][et_pb_column type=\"4_4\" _builder_version=\"4.0.9\"][et_pb_code _builder_version=\"4.0.9\"]
<\/iframe><\/div><script src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/api\/player.js\"><\/script>[\/et_pb_code][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=\"4.0.9\"][et_pb_column type=\"4_4\" _builder_version=\"4.0.9\"][et_pb_text _builder_version=\"4.0.9\"]<h2>The vineyard<\/h2>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=\"4.0.9\"][et_pb_column type=\"4_4\" _builder_version=\"4.0.9\"][et_pb_image src=\"https:\/\/vintae.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/lakar-acuarela-02.jpg\" _builder_version=\"4.0.9\"][\/et_pb_image][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=\"4.0.9\"][et_pb_column type=\"4_4\" _builder_version=\"4.0.9\"][et_pb_text _builder_version=\"4.0.9\"]<p><strong>Location:<\/strong> Lakar (Yerri Valley, Navarra).<br><strong>Planting year:<\/strong> 1920.<br><strong>Surface:<\/strong> 0.8 ha<br><strong>Altitude:<\/strong> 440 meters.<br><strong>Soil:<\/strong> Calcareous clay with good depth.<br><strong>Orientation:<\/strong> Northeast.<br><strong>Planting frame:<\/strong> Old planting frame with great density (1.5 m x 1.5 m).<br><strong>Training system:<\/strong> goblet.<br><strong>Varieties:<\/strong> Mainly Garnacha (95%) mixed in with the occasional vine of other red and white varieties<\/p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=\"4.0.9\"][et_pb_column type=\"4_4\" _builder_version=\"4.0.9\"][et_pb_text _builder_version=\"4.0.9\"]<h2>Winemaking\n<\/h2>\n<p>The grapes were hand-harvested in small baskets on September 25, 2020. After the selection of bunches, maceration took place over nine days without hardly touching the grape, except some pump-overs to refresh the cap. Manual devatting and very light pressing were carried out. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation took place in a small concrete tank. 90% of the wine was then aged for 12 months in a 1,200-liter Austrian oak foudre.
